Today I would take to the small but unique, rich but poor tinsel town of the Bihar located in the northern part ... It takes around six to seven hours to view this district from the state head quarter " Patna" ... We are talking of the heartland of Mithila " Madhubani " which is better known for its Painting rather than its Paan , Makhaan and Machch...Other unique things you will find here once you reach here is its unique style of marriage and the traditions ... Makhana Kheer , Achar, Sattu, Thekua , Khaja are among the famous eatables having unique taste of Mithila...
Mithila is the same nagri which till nowadays bettter known Land of Sita, the Land of king Janak, and the in laws house of Lord Ram ... Now Mithila is better known for it poverty and its top level officers not in the government sector but in the private sectors too ... Apart from this the Saurath Sabha , the Grooms mandi, is located here ... Like every year this year too the Saurath Sabha will be organised ... But there will be few takers of it ...
Lets go in the history in brief about the Saurath Sabha ... Saurath Sabha or Sabha Gachi as it is populary known as , was started in 12th century by the then Mithila king Hari Singh Deo Rai to facilititate both brides and grooms for doing the best and easily search for their counterpart...But anyhow this unique tradition is diminishing without any takers ... Actually peoples of Mithila are not to be solely blamed for this ... Media who is now playing as a watchdog of the sysytem have created havoc in the minds of public rather than to popularise its positivity it has only advertised the happenings which only happens as a exception over here ...
From my blog I will request the fourth pillar to act in responsible manner with the great responsibilty before dismantling the whole culture and unique tradition of Mithila Sabha Gachi...Not only media but Mithila wasi should need to draw their attention towards the loosing charm of Sabha Gachi ...
After all this Mithilanchal is Going to have its Sabha from 26-06-09 to 01-07-09 at Sabha Gachi ( Saurath Sabha ) ...
